शत्रुघ्न
चारों रघुवंशी नायकों में सबसे छोटे भाई, शत्रुघ्न जी, भगवान विष्णु के सुदर्शन चक्र का अवतरण माने जाते है ।
- एक विस्मृत नायक – भगवान राम के वन गमन के समय शत्रुघ्न ही एक मात्र चरित्र है, जिन्होंने किसी लोक प्रसिद्धि को प्राप्त किए बिना अपने हर कर्तव्य का पूर्ण निर्वाह किया । इसी प्रकार, कुछ किवदंतियों के अनुसार, गोवर्धन लीला के समय, भगवान कृष्ण ने अपने सुदर्शन चक्र को आधार बना कर उस विशाल पर्वत को सात दिन तक उठाए रखा था । परन्तु किसी भी मुख्य ग्रंथ में इस तरह का विवरण नहीं मिलता है ।
- सतत प्रयत्नशील – सुदर्शन चक्र में दो चक्र होते हैं, जिनके असंख्य काँटेदार कीलें विपरीत दिशाओं में सतत घूमती रहतीं हैं । इसीलिए सुदर्शन चक्र को समय एवं सूर्य का भी सूचक माना जाता है। ठीक वैसे ही शत्रुघ्न जी भी रामायण के अत्यंत उध्मशील व्यक्तित्व है । सारा रघुकुल जब भगवान राम के वन गमन से व्यथित व दुःखी था, तब शत्रुघ्न जी ने ना केवल अपनी माताओं की देखभाल की अपितु वह निशर्दिन भरत जी के सेवा में भी उपस्थित थे और समस्त अयोध्या के समुचित संचालन में पूर्णतः प्रयासरत रहे
- गुप्त एवं अचूक अस्त्र – यधपि सुदर्शन चक्र विश्व का सबसे घातक एवं अचूक अस्त्र है तथापि भगवान कृष्ण द्वारा इसके उपयोग के बहुत ही कम वर्णन मिलते है – जैसे शिशुपाल वध । इसी तरह भगवान राम भी अश्वमेध यज्ञ से पहले, शत्रुघ्न जी को मथुरा के दुष्ट राजा लावण्यासुर जैसे अजेय राक्षस के संहार का दायित्व देते है ।
Shatrughana
Shatrughan, the youngest of all brothers, is considered an incarnation of Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Vishnu.
Here are some interesting facts:
- Per certain legends, when Lord Krishna lifted the Govardhana, he used the Sudharshan chakra to support without much hype about its usage . In the same way, during Rama Exile, Shatrughana is the only character who didn’t get much limelight but he behaved in a very responsible way and supported Bharata in daily administrative task of the kingdom.
- The Sudarshan chakra is comprised of two rows of spikes continuously moving in opposite direction. Chakra is also a symbol of time (which never stops) and of the Sun (which never ceases its movements). Shatrughana is also the most vivid character of Ramayana, during Rama absence, he not only took care of whole family in Ayodhya but also available to Bharata to serve him day and night.
- Last but not the least, Sudharshan Chakra is the most lethal weapon of Bhagwan Vishnu but still used only on very limited occasions that’s also on selected demons. Same way, Shatrughana was assigned the crucial combat mission of eradicating the demon king Lavanyasur from Mathura before Ashvamedha Yagya.
